Applying for Camp

Elementary/Early Childhood interviews are on February 20 and 27, 2022.

We will continue to receive applications and hold interviews throughout the Spring until all of our summer positions are full.

Training week is June 6-10.

Camp runs June 13-July 22.

Staff are off the week of July 4-8.

Elementary interviews are conducted in 30 minute time slots in February and throughout the Spring as needed. We’ll go over the job requirements, get to know you, and give you a chance to ask any questions you might have about the role. You do not need to bring anything to your interview unless you have time off you’d like to request during the summer. Please know that Parkview Kids Camp is a seasonal employment opportunity, so availability can impact if you are accepted.

Extended Care interviews are done one-on-one with the Camp Director. They are scheduled once your application is received.

Summer Staff Roles

Extended Care Staff

Extended Care Staff oversee Before & After Care for the Elementary Camp. They are responsible for ensuring the safety of kids who arrive before camp begins or stay late after camp has ended.

Extended Care staff are expected to attend a one day training during the week of June 6 – 10 (date to be determined). You must be available to work three weeks of the five weeks of extended care (June 13 – July 22). Work hours are approximately 7:15 – 10a or 3:30 – 5:45p and staff can work either Before Care, After Care, or both.

Elementary Staff

Elementary camp consists of kids entering 1st through 6th grades and is unique in the following ways:

  • This age group needs consistent and loving discipline when a wrong is committed.
  • Elementary kids need someone to say “I like you just the way you were made” and “of course I want to be your friend.”
  • Staff must embrace the competition. This age group loves to compete.
  • This age group values both individualized attention and fairness to the whole group.

Summer staff for this camp are expected to attend a training week from June 6 – 10. The camp dates are from June 13 – July 22.  Work hours are approximately 8:30a – 4:30p, an average of 40 hours per week.

Staff will share responsibility of filling any gaps in our extended care. This comes with overtime pay and will be assigned by the camp director on training week.

Applicants must be at least 16 by June 6, 2023.
